CD REVIEW: ARMAGEDDONIZE by Eclipse

ARMAGEDDONIZE by Eclipse
(Frontier Records)

21st Century AOR rockers, Eclipse are back with their highly anticipated new release, 'Armageddonize' after the critically acclaimed album “Bleed & Scream” from 2012. Without a doubt Eclipse is one the best AOR bands to breakout onto the scene. The band is comprised of, Erik Mårtensson: lead vocals, guitar, Magnus Henriksson: lead guitars, Magnus Ulfstedt: bass and Robban Bäck: drums. Frontman, Erik Martensson over the last few years has been one of the busiest song  writers in the industry providing countless high quality AOR rock. Well when it comes to AOR hard rock, well it really does not get any better than this.  'Armageddonize' proves, once again, why this band is a force to be reckoned with. The production is outstanding as usual, and the song writing is considerable more concentrated than their debut offering. Eric Martensson's vocals are also easy on the ears and well suited to this style of music; while he also plays guitar to boot. My favorite tracks from the album are "Don't Wanna Say I'm Sorry", "Blood Enemies", "One Life - My Life" and the album closer, "All Died Young".  Sweden appears the be the promised land for all things AOR. Eclipse is another band from Sweden, and this release does not disappoint. If you are a fan of driving guitar riffs, catchy melodies, and thumping double-bass drums, then you'll love 'Armageddonize'. The album is strong throughout and I can't imagine any melodic rock fans being disappointed. - Highly Recommended
